One Chance

Nicki and Drake walked hand and hand together to Mama C's house.

"Nicki! Drake! Nice to see you guys." Mama C said as she greeted Nicki and Drake.

"Come in guys." Mama C said as she motioned for them to come in.

"Nice to see you to mama. Where Jalani and Maciah?" Nicki said looking around for her brothers.

"They went to the store, they'll be back. Come and sit down. How have you guys been?"

"Good mama." Nicki said hiding her hand with the ring on it.

"Okay I got to go finish dinner." Mama C got up and went to the kitchen.

"Drake how are we going to tell her?" Nicki said looking worried at Drake.

"Just tell her were getting married." Drake said shrugging his shoulders.

"Drake you know how sensitive my mom is. Telling her i'm getting married is just like saying mom your baby girl growing up and I don't need you in my life anymore because i'm starting my own family."

"Nicki she's not going to overact. At the most she will be happy."

"Sure. Whatever you say." Nicki said rolling her eyes.

Drake reached over and grabbed Nicki's hand.

"Nicki, she's going to be happy for us. Cause I know i'm the happiest man on earth right now." Nicki looked over at Drake and gave him a kiss on the lips.

"You always know what to say."

Just then Jalani and Maciah walked in.

"Sup sis, Drake." Jalani said giving Drake a dap.

"Hey bro." Nicki said standing up giving Jalani a hug. Maciah couldn't help look at the diamond ring on Nicki's hand.

"Nicki what's that on your hand?"  Nicki quickly hid her hand in her jacket pocket.

"What are you talking about Maciah?"

"That ring on your hand. It looked like it was diamond." Maciah said stepping closer to Nicki trying to look at her hand.

"Oh it's just a band aid." Drake hung his head down and started laughing. He knew how much Nicki was a bad liar and couldn't help himself.

"A diamond band aid. C'mon Nicki let me see."  Maciah said trying to get Nicki's hand out of her pocket.

"Guys it's nothing calm down." Nicki said stepping back from them.

Finally Jalani started tickling Nicki knowing how ticklish she was. Nicki finally took her hand out her pocket to stop Jalani. Jalani eyes widened when he saw the ring.

"A engagement ring?" Jalani said looking over at Drake.

"Yeah. What did you think?" Nicki said backing away from her brother.

"Whoa. My baby sister getting married. Wow." Jalani said taking a seat.

"I'm not a baby." Nicki said rolling her eyes at Jalani.

"Hey. Drake why don't you come outside with me. Maciah, stay here with Nicki." Jalani said getting up and leading Drake outside. Jalani looked back at Nicki and Nicki mouthed the words "Don't hurt him" to her brother. Jalani just looked back and smiled.

Once they got outside Jalani just started eyeballing.

"So you marrying my sister. You think you good enough for her? Well you not."

"So what you saying?" Drake said with a mean glare.

Jalani grabbed Drake's shirt and pushed him against the brick wall.

"I'm saying if you fuck with my little sister's emotion, i'm gonna fuck you up. You got that white boy?"

"Nigga get the fuck off me." Drake said pushing Jalani.

"I love Nicki and I wouldn't hurt her. You need to keep that in mind next time you wanna grab up on someone's that's not a stripper." Drake said getting the wrinkles out his shirt and walking to the door.

"Motherfucker. Better watch your back. One fuck up and I'll be there." Jalani said yelling at Drake but Drake was long gone.

"What did he do?" Nicki said looking up at Drake when he came back.

"Nothing I couldn't handle." Drake said smiling.

"Okay guys, dinner ready." Mama C said poking out the kitchen.

Maciah and Jalani walked into the kitchen and Jalani looked back and smiled at Drake. Nicki gave Jalani a stare and looked at Drake.

"Don't let him scare you, he just looking out for me. Like he's always done." Nicki said grabbing his hand.

"I'm not scared of him. He just looking out for you. You ready to do this." Drake said looking at Nicki.

"Always ready with you." Nicki said giving Drake a kiss as they both walked into the kitchen.
